In April, I completed my rough draft of my short story. At the beginning of May, I started reviewing my story. I am in the process of editing my draft one. This stage is a bit time consuming for I’m placing my characters in certain events to have an intriguing plot with good pacing.
The new scenes, rewritten original scenes, and the new changes in Draft One there is more a define direction in the story. I’m focusing on the plot, pacing, and the events in the correct order to create a fantastic story for my readers.
On a personal note, my family adopted a kitty, Golden Shadow from a local rescue two years ago. I can’t believe how time flies. In February he turned three. He is one happy cat and enjoying life.
If you want a pet, please adopt from a local shelter or a rescue you will be saving an animal’s life. If you can’t adopt, please consider donating money or volunteering so an animal can find a forever home.
Last Wednesday, I finished my rough draft of my short story I have been working on. It is nice to have a finished draft before I start the editing stage.
Sometimes, it is hard to finish writing projects dealing with Attention Deficit Disorder. I managed to stay focus on my task.
I had been spending time with my family for the past couple of weeks and enjoying the nice weather. There have been many distractions, but I stayed committed to finishing my short story. I did it!
My short story is finished. I have a rough draft.
My life has been a little crazy for me lately for I have been dealing with a sick kitty. He is feeling better now after I took him to the vet about two weeks ago. The Golden Shadow is back to his old self. It is good to see him running and playing through the house.
I have been focusing on my short story which I am almost done with it. A couple of days ago, I wrote the ending. Now, I need to write the remaining scenes for the climax. Then I will put it aside for a while before starting the editing stage.
Then I will work on another writing project and finish reading some novels that I have been reading.
That’s what I’ve been doing for a couple of weeks.
I didn’t do much writing today. I’m dealing with a migraine that is lingering on. For me, it has been challenged staring at a screen for a long period. However, I really want to finish my short story that I’ve been working on. This evening I managed to write a synopsis for the last four remaining scenes. I thought that I had just two left in my head but when I put my words on the paper (screen) it turns out there was two more in my creative juices. Next, what I want to do is briefly outline each scene so I know where I’m going. But I don’t think that’s going to happen tonight for my head is just throbbing. That will be my goal for tomorrow.
Well, I wanted to give a quick update on my progress.
I am nearly done writing the first part of my short story. I just have two more scenes to write. Today, I wrote 1375 words.
Monday: 2115 words on my short story
Tuesday: 264 words on my short story
Wednesday: 895 words on my short story
Thursday: no writing (a sick day)
Friday: no writing. (I worked on photoshop and music composition.)
The past few days I have been dealing with a lingering migraine wouldn’t go away. I couldn’t stare at a screen for a long period of time, until yesterday.
I am looking forward to doing some major writing and reading this weekend. Perhaps, the Golden Shadow will curl up on my bed while I read. He has his favorite spots for sleeping and my bed on his top three list.
Yesterday, I accomplished one of my writing goals for February. The novel I’ve been reworking, now, has an ending. So, I can focus on the middle and those events.
I am still working on my short story. While I wrote two scenes, a new minor character emerged. Now, I am pondering on different scenarios in the story. This new character needs a name, but I’m not too worried about it.
My goal is to have the first section of the story done by the end of February. I hope. A story is developing, it can change from the outline. That makes it interesting for me to see how events happened and how it will affect the characters. When the game changers events happen that when all the drama and chaos comes. This is why I enjoy writing my first drafts of my stories.
I wrote 1559 words and my target goal was 1500 words.
The novel that I’ve been reworking has an official ending, and I worked on two scenes on my short story.
I will work on three writing projects for February. Well, I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), and I like to work on different projects.
The first project is a short story, and I have written chapter 1 of the first section. My word count says there are about 2,000 words and my goal total was 4,000 words for the story. I’ll be increasing my overall word count for that project is my main focus. My goal is to write half of the first draft.
The second writing project is I’m reworking a novel. That has been a challenge for me; my mind is playing out different scenarios with the characters’ storyline. I need to work on a possible ending to help guide me to write an intriguing middle. So, that’s my goal for project two.
The third project is that I am writing the first draft of a novel. I took a break allowing the creative juices to replenish. My goal is to write three chapters this month.
